Via Vigilius, the mountain path in the footsteps of the Bishop of Trento

The Via Vigilius is a long alpine path between Alto Adige and Trentinowhich begins in the woods around the mountain station of the San Vigilio cable car and ends in Trento, in the Vela area, after ideally 8 days of walking, and as many stages. The adventure is to travel the entire 110 km journey, stopping to sleep at the end of each stage among guesthouses, refuges and huts, but obviously nothing prevents you from doing it a little at a time, keeping in mind that there are stages that are more manageable and others that are longer considerable and also with challenging height differences. In short, it is not exactly an alpine trek but it is still there a mountain path, with some passages that require attention particular and in any case a good physical condition and aptitude for mountain walking. The Via Vigilius, which it essentially winds along the Val di Nonfollows in the footsteps of Bishop Vigilio of Trento, who lived between the 4th and 5th centuries AD: numerous churches in the region are owed to him, and his remains are still buried in the cathedral of Trento.

The Camino di San Romedio is a long cross-border itinerary, which goes from Tyrol to Trento for a total of 180 kmdecidedly demanding from a physical point of view and, in some sections, also from a technical point of view: in practice it follows the path of the saint who started from Thaur and stopped in what is now his sanctuary crossing the Alps. The Dürer Path

Then, there is the Dürer Traila walk in the woods and valleys of Bolzano and Trento that retraces the wanderings of the German painter Albrecht Dürer during his first journey to Venice, in 1494. The shortest route would have been along the Adige, which however had no embankments and was subject to frequent flooding, which is why the painter followed a different path of 39 km, from the Klösterle of San Floriano to the Pyramids of Segonzanowhich can now be retraced in 8 stages.

Alpiedi – Ledro Alps Trek

Alpiedi – Ledro Alps Trek is a easy nature walk, accessible all year round, 101 km long within the network of reserves of the Ledro Alps. Ideally you start and arrive in Storo, and the ring can be covered in 5 days, but obviously nothing prevents you from doing it in stages, to discover the wild nature of this area. The overall altitude difference is 5600 metres, which spread over the 101 km route and 5 days makes it not so demanding from a physical point of view and therefore also suitable for those approaching multi-day mountain tours for the first time.
