The total number of Volpiano in Excellence does not change between Promotion and Second Category. Bajo Dora and La Serra merger: forces join forces

IVREA

The 2022/2023 season will formally begin on Friday 1 July and Canavese will have a team in Excellence, four in Promotion, seven in the First category and four in the Second: 16 in total, as in the last season.

The Volpiano (who played in the promotion in the last championship) passed in Excellence after the merger with La Pianese. The number in Promotion is therefore reduced by one, passing from five to four. Ivrea, Quincitava and Rivarolese remain in the category. Vallorco, which has Cuorgnè as its headquarters, was promoted by Prima. Banchette Ivrea demoted. However, the games are not definitively made: they could in fact “rise” from the First category Montanaro and Colleretto. The Montanaro has two paths: the first passes through the merger with the Carrara 90, of which increasingly insistent rumors are circulating, while the second is that of the repechage, the same as that of Colleretto.

At the moment even in the First category the Canavese women drop by one unit. From the eight teams of the 2021/2022 season, there will be seven appearances: Strambinese, Vischese, Bosconerese, Mappanese, Banchette Ivrea, as well as Montanaro and Colleretto. Also in this case it is possible that the group will be enriched by another unit, given that the Agliè Valle Sacra hopes in the repechage. The deadline for submitting the application will expire on Thursday 14 July, after which, based on the free places, the boxes will be filled in with the teams that will be in the ranking.

Up one unit (from three to four) the group in the Second category. Having lost the relegated Valmalone, the Agliè (assuming it is not rescued) and the Romanese, the newly promoted Valchiusella and the recently relegated Bajo Dora are added. This latter team, however, is strengthened with a merger: the new company is called Bajo La Serra, combining the forces of Bajo Dora, relegated to the second category and La Serra, a third category association. The new president Irene Verdesio explains: «We wanted to join forces and we will play next season in the second category. At home we will be at Gaglione di Bollengo, a pitch that is a real billiards and one of the best facilities in the Canavese area, while training will be in Borgofranco d’Ivrea, at Orla Riccio. The vice president will be Franco Bargellini, former president of Bajo Dora, the coach will be Alex Ardissone, our coach last season in Third. As far as the squad is concerned, in these days we are carefully evaluating the preparation of a team that can be competitive ».

Being competitive, but in Promotion, is also the goal of Rivarolese, with president Juan Carlos Surace who says: “Last season we touched the playoffs, in the next season we want to take that further step to try to reach them, as well as continue with the growth path of our youth sector. We are working to deliver to our new coach Manuel Lami, who has taken the place of Gianmarco Stefanetto, a squad up to the occasion. Next year we will play derbies again with Ivrea, Quincitava, but above all with Vallorco, another club from Alto Canavese where many of our former players play or have played, such as Naretto, Grosso, Prandoni, Bruno and Caliendo ». –
