On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 the European Open Canoe Slalom Cup was held in Tacen-Lubjana, Slovenia, with over 150 competitors from seven countries at the start.
On the Slovenian channel there are many Italian athletes registered including several color bearers of the Ivrea canoe club competitive team.
On the first day, Saturday, for Ivrea all the athletes move on to the next phase, with some heartbeat due to penalties first given and then removed, and with excellent performances by the Juniors at the start. In C1 women Carolina Massarenti is fifteenth, in K1 men well Matteo Pistoni, Davide Ghisetti, Lorenzo Cardini, Michele Pistoni, Simone Bernard, Tommaso Panico and Ludovico Cuignon, in men’s C1 pass Davide Ghisetti, Elio Maiutto and Simone Marchegiano.
On the following day, Sunday 24 April, dedicated to the semifinals and finals, an excellent performance for the Ivrea Canoa Club athlete Carolina Massarenti who enters the final by finishing in eighth place in the race won by the Brazilian Anna Satila. She to record the excellent times collected in the two tests that place her at the level of the best paddlers of the national team.
Nothing to do instead for the K1s who all stop in the semifinals, regret remains for the performance of Davide Ghisetti who is classified in fifteenth place, missing access to the final only for the two penalty points collected at gate number one. –
