First words in black and white for the new play cappelletti: “Happy to be a couple in directing with Giuri: we complement each other”
UDINE. The hunt for Alessandro Cappelletti’s promotion to Serie A restarts from Udine. The Umbrian playmaker was presented by APU through its social channels and immediately showed a great desire for redemption after the bitter end of the season with Reale Mutua Torino. A key touched also by the technical director Alberto Martelossi at the opening of the presentation: «Our desire to be competitive and his desire to marry a new ambitious project has been combined».
His first chat as a Juventus player started with the goals for the 2021/22 season: «I’m here in Udine because it’s a reality that has had important projects for years and I didn’t hesitate to accept the APU proposal. Cappelletti arrives in Friuli to pair up with Marco Giuri in the control room, a couple who at first glance seem really well matched. «I think we can define ourselves as complementary, even from a physical point of view. One thing is certain: Cappelletti is a boy who makes himself well liked, to the point that several Turin colleagues attended his first conference in Udine. «An Udine-Turin match for me would not be like all the others – admitted the Umbrian playmaker – also because in Turin I lived two fantastic years and not having achieved the promotion was a great disappointment. Now I am in Udine and from that experience I carry with me many small lessons that will be important for my career. My former teammates who have already played here (Diop, Penna and Bushati, ed.) Spoke very well of Udine, a solid and ambitious reality ». In closing, a mention of his experiences with the Italian youth teams and the Italbasket expedition in Tokyo: “I have great memories of my participations with the national youth teams, but also a great regret for the defeat against Latvia which prevented us from entering the first eight of Europe. As for the Olympics, I follow them carefully: in blue I played with Fontecchio, who is doing a super tournament, and with Spissu.
