Paris Olympic football competition group results announced
China News Service, Paris, March 20 (Reporter Li Yang) – The draw ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympic football matches was held in Paris on the evening of March 20, local time.
The results of the men’s football grouping for the Paris Olympic Games have been announced. Group A consists of France, the United States, the winner of the intercontinental play-off, and New Zealand; Group B includes Argentina, Morocco, the third-place team in the U23 Asian Cup, and Ukraine; Group C features the second-place team in the U23 Asian Cup, Spain, Egypt, and Dominica; and Group D comprises the U23 Asian Cup first-place team, Paraguay, Mali, and Israel.
For the women’s football teams, Group A includes France, Colombia, Canada, and New Zealand; Group B consists of the United States, either Zambia or Morocco, Germany, and Australia; and Group C features Spain, Japan, either Nigeria or South Africa, and Brazil.
The men’s football matches of the Paris Olympic Games are scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 9, while the women’s football matches will take place from July 25 to August 10 at stadiums in seven cities in France.
Unfortunately, the Chinese women’s football team did not qualify for the Paris Olympics following their draw with the South Korean women’s team in the Asian qualifying competition last year, finishing third in their group with 4 points.
