The 2024 Changan Automobile Chongqing Marathon took place on March 24, attracting 30,000 runners from 426 cities in 26 countries and regions around the world. The event, sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau, Nan’an District People’s Government, and Banan District People’s Government, showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.

The marathon, which featured both full marathon and mini marathon events, saw participants of all ages and backgrounds come together to enjoy the thrill of running along the picturesque Yangtze River. Kenyan athletes Yosfat Kiptu Boyit and Jiao Anjing from China were among the winners who set new records and received cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.

Volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the event, with nearly 5,000 volunteers from universities and society contributing their time and energy to support the runners. The volunteers, including students from Southwest University of Political Science and Law and Chongqing Second Normal University, were praised for their dedication and enthusiasm.

The marathon also provided an opportunity for runners to explore the beauty of Chongqing and enjoy the local cuisine. Many participants extended their stay in the city to visit attractions such as Dazu Rock Carvings and Wulong Karst, as well as savor the famous Chongqing hot pot.

Overall, the 2024 Changan Automobile Chongqing Marathon was not only a test of physical endurance but also a celebration of unity, culture, and sportsmanship.
