Travel Media News:The World‘s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, today released its list of restaurants ranked 51 to 100. The annual awards ceremony will be held in London on Monday 18 July. The annual list is produced by a gender-balanced voting panel of 1,080 independent authorities in the culinary world, from globally acclaimed master chefs and food journalists to traveling foodies. Produced through the same voting process as The World‘s 50 Best Restaurants, this extended ranking focuses on hotel amenities around the world.

  • The 51-100 list includes 20 new finalists from 15 cities from Mexico City to Melbourne
  • The 51-100 list includes restaurants from 22 regions on six continents
  • 14 are from Asia, 13 are from Europe, 11 are from North America, 2 are from the Middle East, 2 are from Africa, 1 is from Oceania, and 7 are from South America
  • Compared to last year’s 51-100 list, restaurants from 5 new destinations have been added, including Argentina, China (mainland), Germany, Singapore and the UAE
  • The most popular new entrant on the 51-100 list is Trèsind Studio (No.57) from Dubai, UAE

This year’s expanded ranking features 14 shortlisted restaurants from Asia, spread across seven cities, including two from Tokyo – Sazenka (No.59) and newly shortlisted Sézanne (No.82). The UAE has two new finalists: Trèsind Studio (No.57) and Orfali Bros Bistro (No.87), both located in Dubai. Other debut restaurants include Rosetta (No.60) and Máximo Bistrot (No.89) from Mexico City, and three restaurants from France: Table by Bruno Verjus (No.77) in Paris, AM par Alexandre Mazzia in Marseille (No. 80) (recently named winner of the American Express One To Watch) and Flocons de Sel, Megève (No. 99).
