Of course, two goals will boost my self-confidence and calmness on the hockey stick will come. With goals, a crumb always falls from a person. It’s good that both formations prevailed in the power play and both lines are working.
Did you feel that when you missed a free kick midway through the game, Kazakhstan suddenly came alive? He immediately reduced and had two more chances before the end of the second period.
If I had converted, the goal would have helped us a lot. But it turned around, the played classic came, you can’t give it – you get it, and they were riding for a while. But we offered them a lot of things ourselves – probably out of too much effort – unnecessarily. We will learn and it won’t happen again next time.

And now it’s all over with raids for me (laughs). They waved at me from the switchboard to let me go. It was clear to me right away that I would end up between the legs, on my last foray I was lucky like that. I didn’t do it wrong, I just didn’t put the puck in the way I should have.
How unpleasant was it to play with only 11 attackers from the second period after the injury of Filip Chytil?
It’s nothing we shouldn’t be used to or prepared for. It didn’t throw us off, rather we had to be more careful on the switch to jump on the ice when we had to.

Don’t you think that there are too many injuries at the start of the tournament?
I hope we’ve already taken all the bad luck out of it. It is not pleasant when after the first match there are two players with question marks and now another one has been added. I hope Filip will be fine and it won’t be anything serious. We need every player.
What do you think of the performance of Lukáš Sedlák, who scored five out of eight goals at the tournament?
It just proves what a great player he is. It’s no surprise to me how he plays. I know him, so I expected such performances from him.
