Devecchi, Arioli and Spanu: “Sport is a teacher of life”
SASSARI. “It is important to understand that in addition to being professional athletes we can send important messages: we are admired by the kids, we know we have a responsibility”. Jack Devecchi speaks as a captain, alongside the other two captains of the Dinamo teams, Cinzia Arioli and Claudio Spanu.
«We started this journey with the Foundation with commitment and it was not easy – said Devecchi -, little by little it has become an acquired value for all those who arrive here. We have carried out many important initiatives, I am proud to have been ambassador of many initiatives and to have involved the teams. The messages that arrived during this meeting are important, it takes passion and sacrifice: I believe in work, behind everything that is beautiful there are hours and hours of commitment in the gym ».
«Basketball is my life and from the age of 6 – said Arioli -, since I started playing my life has revolved around basketball: to pursue goals, however, you need passion and sacrifice. Difficult moments also come, the path is not always all roses: the life of a sportsman is often accompanied by difficulties but turning one’s passion into a job is the best thing that can happen ».
«I was unfortunate to have that bad accident – Spanu recalled -, but in any case I thank him because otherwise I would never have met basketball, which today is my life and which helped me get up, even if I’m in a wheelchair. I trained relentlessly, to pursue my goal. Now I look to the Euroleague final eight, which we will play in April: this is my next goal ». (a.si.)
