Will sport and politics clash again?

The movement summit, to which Interior Minister Nancy Faeser is inviting people this Tuesday, could be seen as a symbol of the low point at which the relationship between the federal government and sport, between the Interior Ministry and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has reached. The state sports associations have canceled their participation in the programmatic event.

The ministry has withdrawn the development plan for a networked mass sport that they should have celebrated. The sports organizations reject it because of its general non-binding nature. The umbrella organization also voices the discontent. The draft of a sports funding law, which was put to the departmental vote ten days ago, sparked disappointment and indignation.
