Marta Lagomarsino monitors the evolution of the cognitive load of workers during the execution of industrial tasks and creates advanced control schemes for collaboration between humans and robots.

His project aims to increase production efficiency and worker well-being. In particular, Lagomarsino used artificial intelligence to study the relationship between mental and physical overload by studying how collaborative robots can stem the effect of such disorders to maximize productivity without increasing the stress level of the human operator. This type of research aims to contribute to the production of collaborative robots accessible to all. The goal is to increase worker efficiency and facilitate the adoption of these machines in real industrial environments. Furthermore, the project aims to shed light on the most common mental disorders, which affect 15% of workers and cause productivity losses equal to one trillion dollars a year, as estimated by the World Health Organization.

Everything about RomeCup 2024: from 20 to 22 March

The RomeCup is a three-day multi-event dedicated to the innovation ecosystem which since 2007 has brought new generations closer to the study of scientific subjects and develops skills and professional profiles for employment, research and development in the country. Young people discover the thrill of learning in an open context, collaborate and share knowledge and skills, while exploring the most inclusive frontiers of technology. It is an original model of vertical accelerator for development, which involves schools, universities, research centers, companies and institutions. Educational workshops, robotics competitions, university orientation sessions, creative contests, hackathons, inspirational talks: the RomeCup is an extraordinary immersive experience in the present and future of man.

The event is divided into a demonstration area, with a three-day exhibition space with innovative prototypes designed by schools, companies, start-ups, universities and research centres. It includes robotics competitions, in which schools from all over Italy compete for the International City of Rome Robotics Trophy and for the World Cup qualifiers (RoboCup) in Eindhoven in the Netherlands from 17 to 21 July 2024.

And again, creative contests are planned in which mixed teams made up of researchers, university professors and secondary school students (including Pcto) work on the prototyping of robots and the creation of software interfaces. Educational workshops, conferences and inspirational tasks consisting of sessions led by scientists, professors, scholars and business leaders dedicated to young people.

The 17th edition is promoted in collaboration with the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Its focus is technological innovation, based on robotic and artificial intelligence solutions, at the service of holistic sustainability, to respond to environmental, social and economic challenges in an integrated way, putting people at the centre. Scientists, scholars, educators, public decision makers and managers question themselves on the ethical challenges posed by the “great technological acceleration” to promote sustainable and inclusive development for the well-being of man and the planet. And in the discussion, open to the convergence of different disciplines, they involve schools and educational communities.

FMD promotes the 2nd edition of the “Advancing Technology for Humanity” award. Most promising researcher in Robotics and AI”, to be awarded to researchers engaged in projects in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, with the perspective of an “E4-Sustainability: Ecological, Energetic, Economic and Ethical-social”.
