AI-Based Early Warning: Armis Acquires CTCI

Arms acquires CTCI because it wants to create an AI-based early warning intelligence system aimed at organizations and governments. In a private deal closed this week, Armis acquired CTCI’s technology and team, expecting to merge the company with Armis over the next 30 days. Armis will integrate CTCI technology within the Armis Centrix platform, powered by the Armis AI-driven Asset Intelligence Engine. So as to create the early warning intelligence system more advanced in the world.

CTCI acquisition

Designed for national security intelligence collection and resolution. Also used in several critical infrastructures around the world to prevent breaches in the water, energy and utility sectors. Originally, CTCI focused on cyber crime and potential attack vectors arising from vulnerabilities and information collected on the dark web. Armis will expand its use and through integration with Armis Centrix will offer new threat intelligence capabilities, building a multi-generation AI-powered cybersecurity enterprise.

Threat intelligence and national security

Nadir Israel, CTO and Co-Founder of Armis
CTCI has deep roots in Artificial Intelligence, threat intelligence and national security expertise. It also has an extensive global network of honeypots that aim to provide an early warning system to identify early indicators of attacks and exploits. Security solutions, up until now, have been reactive and only take action once the attack is launched. With this extended functionality of predictive analytics and AI, Armis Centrix’s threat hunting capabilities will be a game changer.

The origins of CTCI

A company that runs on AI. CTCI was founded in 2020 by CEO Andrew Grealy and CTO Michael Freeman. Together they have more than 50 years in cyber security working with governments and large-scale businesses to prevent risks and exposures. CTCI has helped security operations teams around the world be more effective at preventing breaches. As well as spotting attacks and determining whether a business has been compromised.

A common mission

Andrew Grealy, CEO and Co-founder, CTCI
We are excited to join Armis at this time. Both companies share a common mission of to protect society from cyber criminals and secure critical and national infrastructures. Actionable intelligence is key to proactive defense, and by combining our data with the Armis CentrixTM platform, organizations will be able to take action and stop attacks before they have an impact.

CTCI acquisition for an AI-based early warning system

With an innovative solution powered by proprietary AI and ML technology, the Armis Centrix Extended Platform transforms the hunter into the hunted. It can also begin to observe attack indicators as early as the reconnaissance phase, which can often begin 3-6 months before the attack itself is launched. This is possible thanks to:

Dynamic deployment of honeypots configured ad hoc in the “hotspots” to observe behaviors and techniques.
Scouring the deep web and the dark web looking for “chatter” that provides information and insights on events still in the formulation phase.
Harnessing human intelligencethrough unrivaled feeds, reverse engineering and strategically positioned “listening posts” to monitor criminals for maximum and extremely accurate coverage.

Objective: develop a new, expanded intelligence division

Michael Freeman, Chief Threat Officer and co-founder of CTCI
I’m really excited about this next step with Armis. This is to develop a new, expanded intelligence division and provide real-time insights into the expanding attack surface. CTCI has discovered more than 1000 attacks that no one else sees. More than 350 attacks with an average lead time to CISA of 3-6 months, giving our customers invaluable time to act, remediate and protect themselves from future threats.

L’offerta di Armis Centrix

Armis Centrix offers full situational awareness and a complete asset inventory. Redefining how organizations respond to and address threats to assets and security. Armis has designed highly evolved AI technology and a Asset Intelligence Engine which contains over 4 billion in assets. This allows us to observe hacker behavior, tactics and actions in real time. Armis Centrix comprehensively tracks potential incidents before an attack is launched.
