Amazon Music Introduces AI Tool to Create Playlists and Improve User Experience
In a move to enhance user experience, music platform Amazon Music has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Maestro to help create playlists. Following in the footsteps of peer Spotify, Amazon Music has added this feature to cater to the growing trend of integrating AI into various software and applications.
Currently available in beta to a limited number of subscribers in the United States, Maestro allows users to create playlists by entering instructions using text and emojis. Users can save and share these playlists with other Amazon Music users, making it easier to discover and enjoy new music.
Some recommended instructions for creating playlists include using emojis like 😭 and 🍝, as well as special content such as “I stalked my friends and they gathered without me.” Users can access Maestro on the home page or add a playlist, and then input their preferences to let the tool curate a personalized playlist for them.
However, Amazon has cautioned that since Maestro is a new feature, it may not always get it right on the first try. To address this, the platform has implemented safeguards to block offensive language and inappropriate instructions, and will be collecting feedback to improve the tool before its official launch.
While Maestro is available to all Amazon Music users, Prime Music subscribers and free users will need to listen to a 30-second preview before saving the playlist. On the other hand, Unlimited users can listen to the full version of each song instantly and save the entire playlist at the same time, providing a smoother listening experience.
With the integration of AI technology, Amazon Music is striving to offer a more personalized and enjoyable music streaming experience for its users. As AI continues to permeate various fields, it is likely that we will see more innovative features like Maestro being introduced to further enhance the digital music listening experience.
