Paris Olympics Fire Collection Ceremony Held in Greece, Shanghai City Sports Festival Kicks Off

At the same time, the Shanghai City Sports Festival kicked off with the 30-day countdown to the Olympic Qualifying Series.
The City Sports Festival aims to involve more people in the Olympic spirit and provide a platform for sports fans in Shanghai and across China to experience the passion of the Games firsthand. Pierre Fratte-Bady, Deputy Minister of the Olympic Department of the International Olympic Committee, highlighted the upcoming Shanghai Station of the Olympic Qualification Series as an opportunity to showcase the world‘s top athletes and promote urban sports.
The Festival will run in two stages, starting with a warm-up period from April 16 to May 15, featuring a series of events across Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta region, and beyond. Activities such as break dancing, rock climbing, skateboarding, and freestyle BMX will be showcased to engage the public and promote an active lifestyle.
Following the warm-up period, the City Sports Festival will culminate in a 4-day event at the Huangpu Riverside Competition Venue in Shanghai, offering a blend of sports, art, music, and culture. The “Five Circles” experience area will feature exhibitions and displays in various styles, including a rock climbing exhibition, a skateboard display, a break dance showcase, and a BMX sports zone.
