Qualcomm Announces New Snapdragon Flagship Chips for Affordable Price
Qualcomm has officially announced that it will be holding a “Snapdragon flagship new product launch conference” on March 18. The company revealed that before the highly-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, there will be a release of new Android flagship chips that will provide consumers with flagship-level performance at a more affordable price.
Rumors suggest that Qualcomm may unveil two new chips at the conference – the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Positioned in the mid-to-high-end price range, these chips are expected to offer performance close to that of flagship models but at a lower cost. One of the key features of these new chips is their architecture, which mirrors that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship model, allowing for significant performance upgrades.
According to reports from foreign media outlet “notebookcheck,” both the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will feature the same super core Cortex-X4 as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will run at 3.01 GHz, slightly lower than the flagship model’s 3.3 GHz, while the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will run at 2.6 GHz.
Additionally, both chips will include 4 Cortex-A720 large cores, offering excellent performance levels. In terms of GPU, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is equipped with Adreno 735, while the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will also feature Adreno 735.
It is anticipated that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will offer performance between this year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is expected to have higher performance levels due to its flagship-level architecture.
Tech enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to the launch of these new Snapdragon chips, which are set to bring flagship performance to a wider range of consumers at a more affordable price point.
