Berlin-based ClimateTech raises 6.5 million euros

Cozero, a ClimateTech software company from Berlin, has received 6.5 million euros in a Series A financing round. The startup has developed CO2 management software for companies. Founded in 2020 by Helen Tacke, Fabian Schwarzer and Tiago Taveira, Cozero empowers companies to take control of their environmental footprint and decarbonization pathway. The fresh capital is intended to accelerate the international expansion of the young company.

Finnish investor Kvanted Ventures and EnBW New Ventures (ENV) are leading the investment. Also taking part are NewAlpha Asset Management from France and business angels as well as consultants from the logistics, manufacturing and SaaS sectors. These include Henrik Larsen, former CPO of Maersk, Torben Schreiter, co-founder of Signavio and André Christ, founder of LeanIX.

Companies such as DMG MORI, Maersk and MOSOLF use Cozero’s emissions management software. The software solution offers functions for measuring, reporting and reducing emissions. It helps companies balance environmental improvements with business goals. Companies should be able to link emissions forecasts with business growth.

“Climate management solutions must evolve and enable companies to effectively measure and reduce their carbon footprint by linking decarbonization measures to business impact. Our climate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning, editor’s note) offers sound technology that enables seamless emissions management and targeted control of the company and its resources. In this way, companies can not only meet legal reporting requirements, but also convert their value chain and product offering to low-emission solutions at a premium,” explains Helen Tacke, CEO and co-founder of Cozero.

According to its own information, the startup already has 375 million tons of CO2 emissions under management. “Cozero has developed emissions management software that handles the complexities of large companies’ operations to accurately measure their carbon footprint. This level of accuracy is a prerequisite for supporting companies in the targeted management of their sustainability policies,” says Aurélie Nicolas, Investment Director at NewAlpha.
