After facing heavy criticism for its buggy launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to turn things around with the release of its critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion. In a recent interview with Game File, game director Gabe Amatangelo revealed the key to the game’s comeback.
“The biggest change is just to give everyone more freedom,” Amatangelo explained. “Let them just create and not have to worry about the game director ticking every little thing off.”
Despite the success of the expansion, Amatangelo hinted that there may still be more to come for Cyberpunk 2077.
“It’s possible there are some other little things coming in here or there,” he said. “Developers have some bandwidth, and when they find something that’s not as risky or easy to integrate, they bring it to me and we give it a try.”
Fans of the game can look forward to potentially more updates and content in the future, as CD Projekt Red continues to work on improving Cyberpunk 2077. The journey from ugly duckling to beautiful RPG seems to be far from over for this game.
