Romagna Local Health Authority Participates in World Kidney Day

The Romagna Local Health Authority is once again participating in World Kidney Day, which is celebrated on 14 March. With the support of the Italian Society of Nephrology (SIN) and the Italian Kidney Foundation (FIR), the health authority is raising awareness about kidney diseases through various activities in hospitals throughout Romagna.

In Cesena, an information point will be set up at the Bufalini Hospital to distribute material on chronic kidney disease and offer consultations with the Nephrology and Dialysis department staff. Forlì will also have a similar setup at the Morgagni Pavilion, with blood pressure assessments and support from ANED representatives.

Ravenna’s Santa Maria delle Croci hospital will host an open day in the Nephrology outpatient area, offering nephrological examinations, blood pressure measurements, and urine tests. Rimini’s Ceccarini hospital in Riccione will have a reception point with information material distribution, urinary dipstick tests, blood pressure measurements, and consultations with nephrologists.

In Novafeltria, a ‘school project’ will be held at the local high school, educating students on kidney diseases and organ donation. Additionally, a reception point will be set up at the Sacra Famiglia Hospital with staff from the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit of Rimini, the Green Cross, ANED, and AIDO providing information and services.

Overall, these initiatives aim to promote kidney health and encourage early detection and prevention of kidney diseases. World Kidney Day serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining healthy kidneys for overall well-being.
