The #believebandich challenge is quickly entering its fourth round. After the City Pitch took place in Vienna in the Food & Beverage and Cosmetics & Bodycare category on Thursday, February 22nd, the competition in the area of ​​Social Impacts, Learning & Knowledge will follow in Vienna later on the same day. Starting at 6 p.m. at the Erste Bank Campus in Vienna on February 22nd, eight startups from this category will compete to secure a place in the grand finale. The winning startup will then compete in Vienna on April 3rd with the winners of the other city pitches for the title “Startup of the Year 2024”. The winning teams of the City Pitches also receive a cash prize of 1,000 euros from Erste Bank and Sparkasse as well as two annual licenses for wîse up, the digital platform for training and further education for Austria’s economy.

ambition

The Linz-based startup Ambicura addresses the problem that more and more people are being left behind in the digital world due to the growing complexity of new smart technologies. To counteract this, the young company has developed “KonnY”, a device that is intended to make all possible digital applications easily accessible. The gadget, which is connected to tablets and similar devices, has a surface on which users can place their own tokens, which then trigger certain processes.

Advent

Reigniting children’s imagination: This is the goal of the Viennese startup Aventu. To this end, the young company is developing educational, screen-free, interactive audio books. The young company’s digital application works with voice control, which enables playful learning content that is intended to reduce children’s screen time.

Heart App

HerzensApp from Graz focuses on the area of ​​care. The application of the same name is intended to support families in organizing, coordinating and managing care and support. The app offers real-time insights into the health status of relatives in need of care.

Snack break

The Vorarlberg startup Jause-Pause offers healthy snack boxes for children. These are intended to enable parents to provide their children with good nutrition, even if they have little time to prepare food for them. The mostly vegetarian food should consist of natural ingredients and be free of unhealthy additives.

Independent

Independo from Vienna has developed a digital calendar diary that presents appointments not in text form, but in the form of symbols and audio. The aim of the young company is to make digital calendars accessible to people with learning difficulties. By synchronizing with common calendars such as Google Calendar and iCal, users can also share appointments with others and import them into the app. Independo translates text-based appointments into pictograms.

mytalents.ai

The Viennese startup mytalents.ai offers a cloud-based AI learning platform that focuses on providing comprehensive AI training and aims to increase the productivity of employees in companies.

Techwomen

More women in the tech industry: That is the vision of Techwomen. The young Viennese company is developing a platform that connects women in technological professions and female MINT students with companies. This is intended to give companies access to key skilled workers and support women working in the tech sector.

Totoy from Vienna offers an AI app that translates documents into the user’s native language and explains them in simple language. The mission of the young company is to solve functional illiteracy through human augmentation. The app is also intended to make letters from authorities, which are often worded in complicated terms, understandable to people who speak German as a second language.

The startups will once again compete in front of a top-class jury. This decides which young company will make it to the final of the #believebandich challenge. The jury members are:
