FINAL FANTASY XVI’s Final DLC “The Rising Tide” Set to Launch on April 18th

After the success of “Echoes of the Fallen” which was released in December last year, fans of FINAL FANTASY XVI can now look forward to the final DLC, “The Rising Tide”, which is confirmed to be launching on April 18th. Players will have the option to purchase the DLC separately on the PlayStation Store or they can obtain it through the discounted Expansion Pass. The story of this upcoming DLC takes place before the ending of the main story and promises to provide rich content for players to explore and enjoy.

Introduction to “Crying in the Sea”

In the upcoming DLC, players will follow the protagonist Clive as he embarks on a new adventure to Mysidia, a mysterious land where they will uncover the tragic past of the Forgotten People. A commission letter found in the protagonist’s hiding place leads them to the long-lost water summoned beast, “Dominant of Leviathan”, and an urgent mission to rescue it.

New Leviathan summon beast ability set

Players can expect to see an increase in the level cap for various game modes, as well as the introduction of a new summoned beast ability called “Leviathan the Lost”. This ability will allow players to harness the power of the water summoned beast to control waves and drown enemies. Clive will also gain a new summoned beast special ability, “Serpent’s Cry”, which summons a water dragon to deliver precise blows to enemies from a distance.

New locations and threats

Players will encounter new threats in the Mysidia region, including the Tonberry enemy, as they explore new locations such as the ruined fortress of Dongbeli in “Aire of Hours”. The DLC will also feature the much-anticipated battle between Clive and the legendary summoned beast, Leviathan.

New mode after clearing the level: Kairos Gate

Following the completion of “Crying in the Sea”, players will have access to a new challenging Roguelike mode called Kairos Gate. In this mode, players will delve into a fictional underground world, facing numerous enemies and challenges as they strive to conquer the depths and claim the richest loot. Top players can compete for a spot on global leaderboards.

Free update (version 1.30) launched simultaneously

Alongside the launch of the final DLC, a free game update (version 1.30) will be available to all players on April 18th. This update will bring convenience improvements to the game, including a new “Quick Complete” function, updated mission icons, skill set storage, controller customization, enhanced photo mode features, new orchestral sounds, and more.
