The latest landscape “Green Tech Startups Austria 2024” lists 193 tech companies in the area of energy, mobility and resource transition. According to the initiators, this is a new record.
For several years now, Green Tech Valley has been working with partners to create a landscape for the Austrian GreenTech startup ecosystem. Traditionally, the landcape is presented in mid-February. Last year, for example, 165 green tech startups were listed that offer solutions for climate protection and the circular economy (brutkasten reported).

The new landscape for 2024 has been online since Thursday. It lists 193 green tech startups. According to the initiators, this is a new record.

“That is an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year’s survey. With 68 young, green tech companies in Vienna and 72 in Styria & Carinthia, these two regions are once again home to more than two thirds of all green tech startups,” says Bernhard Puttinger, Managing Director of Green Tech Valley.
If you look at the currently exactly 29 new companies founded since January 2023, then Styria ranks first with around a third – overtaking Vienna for the first time.
