Greentech Saxony: Cropenergies is building a plant for renewable ethyl acetate at Zeitz
Ethyl acetate is used in the production of flexible packaging and coatings, paints and adhesives, as well as in the food, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Ethyl acetate is currently mainly produced from fossil raw materials. The new plant will produce around 50,000 tonnes of renewable ethyl acetate per year, the company said. Commissioning of the system is planned for summer 2025 at the latest. 50 new jobs are to be created. Cropenergies belongs to the Südzucker Group.
