Luminous mouse pads are fundamentally not new. With the brand new FIREFLY V2 PRO, Razer doesn’t just limit itself to colorful edges, but instead makes the entire background shine. According to the manufacturer, it is the first example of its kind in the world.

The mouse pad has a total of 15 customizable lighting zones, which provide access to the typical 16.8 million different RGB colors. Strictly speaking, it is only lit indirectly from the side. A matted surface should then distribute the light as evenly as possible over the entire surface.

While the micro-textured top of the mouse pad is optimized for optical sensors, which should not be affected by the colorful RGB lighting, the non-slip underside guarantees a stable hold on the desk. The Razer FIREFLY V2 PRO is 36 cm wide and around 28 cm long.

The mouse pad is powered via USB-C. The cable can be removed at any time, for example to charge a wireless mouse. There is also an integrated USB 2.0 port, which also has a passthrough function for mouse adapters.

The mouse pad is available in black and white. However, the new lighting comes at a price. The RRP of the Razer FIREFLY V2 PRO is 109.99 euros. A lot of money for a colorful area – everyone has to decide for themselves whether it’s worth it.
