PlayStation Introduces Social Game Help Service for PS5 Players
In an effort to enhance game support functions for PlayStation 5 players, Sony has announced the introduction of a new social game help service that will soon be available to all PS5 users. This service, as detailed on the official PlayStation blog, will not be restricted by PS Plus subscriptions and is aimed at providing valuable assistance to players in need.
The social game help feature will work similarly to the current game help system. When encountering difficulties in a game, players can access the control center and select the game help operation card. Tips from fellow community members will be labeled as “Community Game Help” to differentiate them from tips provided by game developers.
Players also have the option to contribute to the community gaming help by selecting the “Participate” option in the settings menu. However, this is an automatic capture process, meaning players have limited control over what is captured. The captured footage will be reviewed by a reviewer and, if approved, will be published for other PlayStation players to watch and learn from.
This new feature is designed to be simple and user-friendly. Players can easily join the community game help service through the settings menu and have their gameplay automatically captured when completing specific in-game activities. These captured videos will only contain game content and will not include any player footage, microphone recordings, or group chat voice content.
Sony has stated that the social game help service will be available to PS5 players in select games later this year. While details on which games will be included and the exact release date are still pending, PlayStation has promised to provide more information closer to the launch date. Players can also choose to delete any uploaded content at any time, ensuring their privacy and storage space are both respected.
