The Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra have been on the market for a few weeks and, as always, problems arise after a while. Buyers of the cell phones are currently complaining about two features that don’t work properly. The errors should be easy to fix with a software update.
Samsung Galaxy S24 with two problems
As with any new smartphone, problems arise over time. Some of them are relatively serious, others are more negligible. The difficulties with the Galaxy S24 models lie somewhere in between. Although they are annoying, they are not too serious and can be fixed with a software update. Some owners are currently dealing with the following two problems:
Face recognition: Even though the Galaxy S24 smartphones do not have a 3D sensor on the front, Samsung has integrated camera-based facial recognition. This allows the cell phone to be unlocked. This also works reliably in good light. If the lighting conditions become more difficult, the detection does not work very reliably. In the case of the new Samsung cell phones, this is said to be unusually weak, although the front camera should actually be able to detect enough in the camera app.
Screen Mirroring: If your TV supports “Screen Mirroring”, you can wirelessly transfer the content from your Samsung phone to the TV. However, owners of the Galaxy S24 models have a problem establishing a wireless connection to their televisions.
Samsung has already released a major software update for the Galaxy S24 smartphones that has optimized the camera and display. It is quite possible that the problems that have recently emerged will soon be resolved if they are reported more widely. According to SamMobile, the problems have not yet been officially acknowledged by Samsung.

The above problems do not affect the other functions of the smartphone. You can still unlock the Galaxy S24 devices using your fingerprint or PIN. Some forums recommend that you clean the camera. If you have a television with Android TV or Google TV, you should do screen mirroring via Google and not Samsung. That should probably work. Otherwise you have to wait for a software update.
