Blizzard Unveils New Expansion Pack “Battle for the Center of the Earth” for World of Warcraft

At last year’s BlizzCon, Blizzard invited back Chris Metzen, who used to be in charge of the World of Warcraft world, and unveiled a large-scale story “World Soul War” that consists of three expansion packs. The first expansion pack “War for the Center of the Earth” was released after BlizzCon, revealing the first wave of relevant revision content today, and will start Alpha testing tomorrow (19th).

“Battle for the Center of the Earth” will take players deep underground. As players continue to advance the main story campaign, they will encounter the earth spirits living in Dorne Island and its underground area. These earth spirits will provide new allied races for Horde players. Players will also encounter the ancient Neryou Zerg civilization, preparing for the upcoming conflict.

In terms of systems, “Battle for the Center of the Earth” adds an “Exploration” dungeon, an adjustable world dungeon for 1 to 5 people, providing important equipment for the new reward track in the treasure house schedule. New hero talents for each class specialization and a brand-new “Team” function have also been introduced. The “Team” function allows players to create a team among all the characters on a single account and share progress and achievements.

Blizzard also announced the physical collector’s edition including the epic edition of “World of Warcraft: War for the Center of the Earth”, a hardcover art collection, collection pins, and a gryphon knight statue. The physical collector’s edition will be sold in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao.

In an interview with Ion Hazzikostas, the game director of World of Warcraft, he revealed that the expansion pack will feature important roles for characters like Anduin and will explore the origin and purpose of the Titans.

“Battle for the Center of the Earth” aims to provide players with a fresh and adventurous experience, with new exploration dungeons and richer hero talents. The team system allows players to share resources between their characters, creating a more cohesive gameplay experience.

The expansion pack promises to deliver a satisfying and complete gaming experience as part of the larger “World Soul War” series, with more content and updates to come in the future.
