The beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in action with the highly acclaimed game, Shredder’s Revenge. Released two years ago, the game was an instant hit with fans and critics alike. Tribute Games took inspiration from the classic Turtles in Time and managed to exceed expectations with improved gameplay, added characters, and a stellar multiplayer experience.
Last year, the game received a DLC update that introduced a Survival Mode and two new characters, including the fan-favorite Usagi Yojimbo. With the success of the DLC, many fans are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for the Turtles franchise. In a recent interview with Prankster101 Productions, Shredder’s Revenge narrative designer Yannick Belzil expressed the studio’s desire to continue working with the Turtles, hinting at the possibility of more DLC or even a sequel.
“We’d love to do more DLC, maybe even a sequel, but that’s not something right now. We’re a small team, so we’re putting all our energy into the existing DLC. And it has to be successful in order to have a sequel, or even new DLC,” said Belzil. “We’d love to continue working in that world, but it’s going to be up to the fans.”
With a passionate fanbase and continued support for the Turtles, it seems likely that Shredder’s Revenge will not be the last we see of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. So, in the words of the Turtles themselves, “Cowabunga!”
