Helldivers 2, dubbed “Democratic Delivery” by the player community, has received a warm reception after its release on February 8. The team-based shooting game immediately topped the best-selling list on the Steam platform, but players quickly encountered issues with multiplayer connections.
The game, an upgrade from a 2D bird’s-eye view to a 3D third-person shooting, has been highly anticipated by FPS players this year. With significant improvements in graphics and gameplay, players are required to find three good teammates to fight star bugs together, send democracy to various planets, obtain resources, and upgrade equipment. However, the inability to connect to a multiplayer shooting game led to frustrations on the first day of release, resulting in mixed reviews.
The development team at Arrowhead Game Studios quickly responded to the issue, with design director Mikael Eriksson announcing that the multiplayer connection crashes and matchmaking crashes would be corrected with an update. The PS5 version also received updates and fixes, ensuring that players would be able to enjoy the game as intended.
The peak number of people online for Helldivers 2 after its release exceeded 70,000, indicating the game’s potential for success if the multiplayer connection and pairing issues are resolved. With the problem addressed, players can expect a more stable and enjoyable gaming experience.
“Battlefield 2,” developed by Arrowhead Game, is available in standard and Super Citizen versions on PS5 and Steam, with the Super Citizen version offering additional equipment, guns, and a mini-game to play while waiting in the lobby. Despite the initial connectivity issues, the game is expected to gain momentum and provide an engaging gaming experience for players.
