US forces fear new attacks at Kabul airport after the kamikaze attack that killed 90 people yesterday, including 13 American soldiers.
General Frank McKenzie, head of the US Central Command, said that US military leaders are alarmed over probable new attacks on the Afghan capital’s airport “with rockets or car bombs”. “We are doing everything we can to be prepared,” McKenzie said, noting that there has been an exchange of intelligence with the Taliban and to believe “that some other attacks have been averted” by “Islamic students”.
