The Red Devils remain firmly anchored in sixth position, qualifying at least for the next Europa Conference League.
Manchester United reassured themselves in the league with a logical victory against Everton (2-0) on Saturday, which allows them to remain in the race for European places. Distanced from the race for the next Champions League after its two defeats against Fulham (1-2) and Manchester City (3-1), Erik ten Hag’s team remains firmly anchored in sixth position (47 points), qualifying at least for the next Europa Conference League.
This success took shape in the first period. Without being dangerous, and enduring the high play imposed by Everton, the Mancunians obtained two penalties after two fouls committed on Alejandro Garnacho by Tarkowski and Godfrey. These were transformed by Bruno Fernandes (12th) and Marcus Rashford (36th).
Sixteenth in the championship (25 points), Everton has still not won in 2024 and remains under threat from Nottingham Forest (24 points and a game in hand) and the first relegated Luton (20 points and two games in hand).
