Aksel Hennie (48) is without a doubt one of our biggest acting stars, and is a familiar face to most Norwegians.
We have seen him in fantastic films such as “Max Manus” and “Headhunters” – as well as major international productions such as “Hercules”.
He grew up at Lambertseter in Oslo, and is educated at the Theater Academy.
Not only is he a formidable actor on screen, but Hennie is also highly skilled on the stage.

In 2011, Hennie was hit by what shouldn’t happen, he lost his little brother in a tragic parachute accident.
Annan Forbes Hennie died during a parachute jump at Jarlsberg Airport in Tønsberg. He was an experienced skydiver, and died when he collided with another skydiver in mid-air.
Aksel Hennie’s brother was only 29 years old.
Aksel Hennie about the grief
It is now almost 13 years since the tragic fatal accident, and now the actor opens up about the great grief for his brother. He does that in the talk show of Else Kåss Furuseth (43), «ELSE!».
In the programme, Furuseth asks Aksel: “How much do you miss your brother?”
Hennie says that he has heard from a person who had also lost his brother, that he was glad that the grief never left. This is something he does not recognize.
– I feel zero positive about losing a person I was so fond of, as what I was in him. I have zero benefit from feeling that longing, that sadness. It all got a little worse. And I lost myself for ten years. I found it difficult to be me for ten years.
Hennie says that she chooses to move on every day, even if the sadness is always there.
– And I also believe, one hundred percent, that in our society, the dead are given far too much space, often. I lost a brother – that means one of us is gone. Take care of me, then. I’m the one left.
This was well said. Warm hugs to you Aksel.
