The Argentine U-23 National Team tied the local Venezuela this Monday at the start of the final phase of the Pre-Olympic Tournament. The albiceleste scored with goals from Carlos Vivas, against and Thiago Almada, but the Venezuelans scored with Leandro Brey, against and Kevin Kelsy.
Venezuela went ahead on the scoreboard after 15 minutes of the game in a play that started from the left and there David Martínez threw a cross at the goal that complicated goalkeeper Brey who put the ball into his own goal.
At about 40′, the Argentine tie came in an unusual way. Valentín Barco threw a cross from the left and there Vivas did not listen to his goalkeeper and put the ball into his goal with a header.
Before the end of this part, both teams were left with ten due to the expulsion of Barco and Bryant Ortega for throwing the ball towards both of them as a provocation.
Already in the second half, Argentina found victory with Almada in a great collective combination inside the area that ended up defining the player who plays for Atlanta United.
The match ended hot and at 90+7 Gonzalo Luján ended up being sent off. This made Venezuela find the agonizing tie with Kevin Kelsy from a penalty.
With the tie, Paraguay leads the zone with three units followed by Argentina and Venezuela with one unit and Brazil closes the table with zero points.
