Armed robbery in a Chanel jewelery shop in the heart of Paris, in rue de la Paix, a stone’s throw from Place Vendome. The whole area around Place Vendome has been cordoned off. The French media reported it. According to initial information, at least four people, wearing a helmet, fled after the blow on two motorcycles. At the moment, the amount of the loot is unknown.
According to police sources, there were no injuries. The prefecture of Paris has announced the dispatch of an anti-crime brigade on the spot. The robbery, a small note, two days before May 7, the 99th anniversary of the birth of the perfume par excellence, Chanel n.5.
It is not the first time that Place Vendome, three of the most important and central squares in Paris, is the scene of a robbery: home to numerous jewelers and ultra-luxury shops as well as the famous Hotel Ritz, recently restored, and the Ministry of Justice, the last September saw another spectacular robbery by Bulgari.
