BR-101 remains closed in the Morro dos Cavalos region

Traffic remains blocked this Sunday, the 14th, on BR-101, in Palhoa. The lane closures have been in place since Saturday night, the 13th, when barriers fell and a large rock came loose in Morro dos Cavalos. Teams from the Arteris Litoral Sul dealership and the Fire Department are working at the site.

In a note published this morning, the company states that there is no forecast for the road to be released. “The blockades were carried out preventively at two different points on the highway, namely at KM 229 South (lane towards Porto Alegre) and at KM 234 North (lane towards Curitiba)”, said Arteris.

Check out alternative routes:

Track towards Porto Alegre (or South)

At km 215 of BR-101/SC, access BR-282/SC. Then, drive to Lages/SC, when you can access BR-116/SC and continue to Caxias do Sul/RS. Next, access BR-453 and drive to Terra de Areia, when you can enter BR-101/SC.

Track towards Curitiba (or North)

Access BR-453 in Terra de Areia/RS, follow to Caxias do Sul/RS, when you can enter BR-116. Afterwards, drive along BR-116 to Lages/SC, then access BR-282/SC until Palhoa, when you can access BR-101/SC.
