The historic (and until then abandoned) Locomotive Workshop of the Companhia Mogiana de Estrada de Ferro (Clock Building) is the setting for the Campinas Decor 2024. The most traditional exhibition of architecture, decoration and landscaping in the interior of São Paulo opens its doors from March 29th to May 26th.

The event has 42 internal and external environments prepared by a team of 64 professionals from the Campinas market and other municipalities in São Paulo. There are living rooms, studios, ateliers, suites, bathrooms, home theater, kitchen, offices and gourmet station, among others, as well as functional environments, such as a restaurant, store and cafeteria. The exhibition also has a toy library and a construction sales stand.

The edition store is from @davos.decor by businesswoman Simone Bernoldi. The environmental project is designed by the office @vintagearquiteturainteriores – @lydiabonini.

Among the trends and solutions presented, the highlight is the use of furniture and decoration pieces designed by Brazilian designers, the increasing awareness of sustainability, lots of art and the focus on biophilic architecture, seeking ever greater integration between man and nature and seeking, in addition to aesthetics, to provide tranquility and well-being.

Since 2003, the organization of the event has renovated public buildings such as Lago do Café, Estação Guanabara, the buildings of the Instituto Agronomic de Campinas, Estação Cultura, Fazenda Argentina, the mansion of the old Colégio Ateneu and the building of Cotuca (College Unicamp Technician). The revitalization process was also carried out in privately owned properties of representative value in the city, such as Fazenda Santa Margarida, now an important event venue. Unfortunately, not all of them remain well preserved.

According to the city hall, after the end of the event, the building should be used for cultural and leisure activities by the Municipal Department of Culture and Tourism and also for fairs and corporate events. The surrounding region should also be revitalized and other nearby buildings could be restored to house a technology hub, with the installation of startups and companies in the innovation sector and a possible gastronomy space.
