News from Kinshasa: China’s 25th batch of peacekeeping troops to the Congo (DRC) successfully completed a three-day induction training on the 11th and obtained a certificate of completion from the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Congo (MONUC).
The training was organized by the MONUC Training Center, which focused on 23 topics including Congo (DRC) situation, protection of civilians, behavioral discipline, and military-civilian coordination. Through theoretical explanations, case studies, discussions and exchanges, and simulated emergencies handling, the officers and soldiers of the army have further mastered the security situation in the mission area and the countermeasures to deal with emergencies, and improved their ability and quality.
“The training is very professional and it has helped us a lot,” said Ye Lijuan, a nurse from the medical team. “This training allowed us to deepen our understanding of the task and enable us to quickly enter the working state and complete the peacekeeping mission.”
It is understood that China’s 25th batch of peacekeeping troops to the Congo (DRC) has completed more than 10 engineering support and humanitarian rescue missions since it was deployed to the mission area in early October.
