Spy X Family – Code Whiteil animated feature film and dubbed into Italian will arrive in cinemas on April 24th thanks to Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures.
He is a spy. She’s a killer. Together, Loid and Yor keep their double lives private, pretending to be a perfect family. However, their adopted daughter Anya, a telepath, knows the exciting secrets of both of them without their knowledge. Under the guise of taking the family on a weekend winter vacation, Loid’s attempt to make progress on his current mission “Operation Strix” proves difficult when Anya mistakenly gets involved and unleashes events that threaten world peace!
The synopsis is clear and linear for the fan base, but is cleverly revealed as the opening of the feature film, making it accessible to everyone as a separate chapter. In fact, this is what it is about, 110 minutes of comedy and action in full style Tatsuya Endo. An adventure inserted precisely in the attempt to complete Operation Strix, placed in the post-arrival narrative arc of Bond and Nightfall. As otaku would say, it’s something non-canon!
Far from previews and spoilers, it is an animation that must be seen. If pastries, hilarity, creativity, action and scary dubbing appeal to you, it’s unmissable. There isn’t much to say, even the stylistic variations of animation and drawing based on characters or situations are little gems that should be appreciated on the big screen. Indeed, I challenge you with a very subtle anticipation… what would you imagine you would see if I told you “The Lord of Pupu“?!
It’s the same dilemma that Anya will have to unravel, who in this chapter is probably the top character with her imaginary antics, with the voice of Valentina Pallavicino. It is an absolutely masterful interpretation of her, because the rambling panoramas in which Anya lives for about twenty minutes really require particularly trained and skilled expressive skills. Being able to mix emotions of fear, pain, relief, happiness, bliss one linked to the other with a fast-paced pace is really not for everyone. The “Water Garden” will be the consecration of his skill!
In Code White, everything mainly revolves around the Forger family. There are some appearances by Yuri, “Handler”, Becky, Franky, Nightfall, “Secondborn”, but they really seem like fan service appearances. Perhaps, for those who are fond of the iterations with these characters, it is the only sore point of everything. Having moved everything to an external city, the choice was to place them in the third place in favor of the main triad of the saga. However, this does not mean that Agent Nightfall or the romantic Becky will not have their little opportunities to make us smile and act as a link to the main plot of the anime.
The hard core of comedy is also the prerogative of the shy and insecure Yor, whose need for answers will be strongly at odds with Mulled Wine and overly flirtatious colleagues. Laughter that quickly subsides when little Anya is in danger. And here Thorn Princess, with all her cold kindness, will become implacable and ruthless. And this is where Elisa Giorgio give the best of yourself. The “bipolar dubbing” of an adult with a thousand facets, emotions, insecurities, love, coldness, fury. All in a whirlwind of thoughts that last and vary from one millisecond to the next.
And finally Lord Forger, ours Mattia Bressan, with a reassuring and calm voice on every occasion. That calm tone of the man who is sure of himself and everything he is doing, which makes you connect with Nightfall and his irreparable infatuation. Cold and calculating to complete the mission, sweet and loving towards everyone, an excellent thinker to study the action plan. In every joke all these emotions pass like a river, making Loid a lovable and “Elegant” character! And always with that doubt… is it for the mission… or is it love?!
An extraordinary dubbing direction by Renata Bertolas, for an exceptional Italian cast. Enjoyed in a large armchair in front of a giant screen, it doesn’t make me regret not having seen it in the original language. I admit Max di Benedetto e Giulia Maniglio I missed them so much with their all-pepper protagonists.

The dreamy voice of a young girl in love and romantic studying the alleged love story of her best friend. Yet I would go back to see it again today! And despite everything, when their voices rarely (treacherously) arrive, you feel the bliss of their jokes that you hope will never end!
If you’ve been waiting for it, if you want to spend two fun hours, if you want a slice of superbly dubbed animation, you really can’t miss the very first viewing of Code White. And then to the second!
