Kinshasa – The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, has decreed a “state of siege” in two eastern provinces, at the center of violence by armed rebel groups. The government spokesman announced this.
The provinces concerned are that of North Kivu, where the ambassador Luca Attanasio was killed, and that of Ituri; the modalities of its application will be detailed in a subsequent presidential ordinance.
