Covid in the world: new peak of 45,000 infections in the UK, but deaths drop to 57 and hospitalizations remain below warning levels

by admin

New leap today to 45,140 – peak since mid-July – in infections from Covid in the United Kingdom, which remain over 40,000 for the fifth day. On the other hand, the total number of hospitalizations in hospitals remained stable below the alert level, standing at around 7,000, while the dead dropped to 57 against 145 yesterday.

The country, reopened with no significant restrictions since 19 July, in any case maintains a higher case rate even than Russia in Europe; but – with 80% of the over 12 population doubly vaccinated against 32% – it marks one ninth of Russian deaths albeit with an average of just over 100 per day in the last week.
