Palace came into Monday’s clash with just two wins in their last 13 matches.
Earlier in the day, it was confirmed that Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson as manager of the London club. The Austrian watched the game from the stands, while Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington managed Palace from the sidelines.
Jordan Ayew sent Palace into the lead after 66 minutes. The attacker got free on the side and hammered the ball into the goal with a good finish.
Afterwards, Everton pressed for an equaliser, and after 84 minutes it came. Amadou Onana was first on the ball after a corner kick and poked it into the net.
The result means that Everton climb past Luton and are in a safe place in the Premier League. However, Luton have one less game played. Palace are in 15th place, five points ahead of Everton.
Everton have not won in their last eight games in the series. The last three-pointer came in mid-December. In addition, the blue-clad team were deprived of ten points earlier in the season for breaching the league’s financial rules.
