Daniel Yule (30) won after a show of strength in Chamonix. In doing so, he managed a feat that no one has managed before. No Norwegians made it onto the podium.

The Swiss won ahead of compatriot Loic Meillard, while French home hope Clement Noel was third.

– That is unbelievable. I think it will be difficult to beat, says Yule to Viaplay.

Lucas Braathen previously held the record when he worked his way up from 29th place to victory in Wengen in 2022.

Yule delivered an incredible performance and set a new “world record” in slalom.

He was 1.93 seconds behind leader Clement Noel after the first lap, but the hot weather made it very challenging for the late starters in the second lap.

– It’s a peel. He has reasonable luck today. It is of course very well run, but also luck, says Atle Lie McGrath to Viaplay.

According to Viaplay expert Kjetil André Aamodt, this has previously only happened three times – all three in combination.

Henrik Kristoffersen was the best Norwegian in a shared 5th place.

After the first half, the Norwegians were in a very good position. Timon Haugan was the best Norwegian in second place after the first round, but eventually finished in eighth place. He dropped to 5th place in the World Cup overall.

It was warm and t-shirt weather in Chamonix on Sunday. It gradually became quite soft in the track, where a lot of salt had been used.

The veteran Henrik Kristoffersen had two bad turns in the 1st half, but the conditions in the final were perfect for the racer from Rælingen with soft spring snow. It has previously been victory or elimination for Kristoffersen in Chamonix. Now it was 5th place and best Norwegian.

Atle Lie McGrath was fourth after the 1st round, but had a full stop in the final and fell to 30th and last place.

Alexander Steen Olsen had a favorable starting number in the final. He was unable to capitalize on the advantage, but advanced three places to 16th place.

It didn’t go fast enough for Sebastian Foss Solevåg, and he was a full 2.22 seconds behind the leader and finished in 37th place. Nor did Halvor Hilde Gunleiksrud (2.81) and Eirik Hystad Solberg (2.87) manage to get into the top 30 who will be allowed to run the final round.

There was also supposed to be a speed race in the Olympic city from 1924, but it was canceled due to a lack of snow.
