DHL Express Italy, leader in the international express air transport sector, today inaugurated the new sorting and distribution center in Rho.

Present at the event were CEO Nazzarena Franco, Raffaele Cattaneo, undersecretary of the Lombardy Region with responsibility for international and European relations, Andrea Orlandi, mayor of Rho, Alessandro Spada, president of Assolombarda, and Professor Oliviero Baccelli, director of the Master in Economics and Transport, Logistics and Infrastructure Management (MEMIT) at Bocconi University. Partners and customers of DHL Express, including Nicolas Meletiou, CEO of ESO Società Benefit arl, and Enrico Caviglia, CFO of Molteni&C, shared their testimonies.

The technological modernization affected both the offices and warehouses of DHL Express, allowing it to improve operational efficiency. An advanced sorter is capable of processing 3,000 pieces per hour, also helping to improve safety and reduce environmental impact. To confirm this, 88 charging stations have been installed for vehicles used for collections and deliveries in the first and last mile. These columns serve the northern area of ​​Milan and the area between the provinces of Milan and Varese, between the Ticino river, the Olona river and Saronno. This area is one of the areas with the highest concentration of small and medium-sized businesses in Italy and Europe.
