Dian Sastro explains the reasons for converting to Islam, apparently only because she needed answers

Liputan6.com, Surabaya – Dian Sastrowardoyo, the beautiful artist who plays Cinta in the film What’s Up With Love, shares her story of finally being convinced to embrace Islam. Officially, Dian said the creed for the first time at the age of 21.

The story about him converting to Islam was told by Dian Sastro in a Denny Sumargo podcast video quoted on Thursday, March 14 2024. He said that his parents were of different religions.

Dian Sastro was born to a Catholic mother, while her father converted to Buddhism. Even though she embraced a certain religion, her parents introduced Dian to another religion.

From the religions that were introduced, Dian wanted to get satisfactory answers to the various questions that were in her mind regarding this life. He admitted that he received a satisfactory answer from the Islamic religion

“So I had a pretty big building with colorful colors,” said Dian.

Dian admits that she has liked reading philosophy since she was in high school. From his reading, it seemed like the religion his father adhered to was more suitable for him. Dian had thought about following Buddhism.

However, after studying this religion, Dian was not satisfied with the answers given. That didn’t discourage him from seeking answers from other religions.

“My mother said, I’ve studied it, okay, I’ve tried to study everything, but how come my philosophy questions haven’t been answered,” he said.

Dian’s adventure in searching for answers is not finished. To the point, he promised God that if there was a religion that could answer his questions, he would choose that religion.

“I said that if I got an answer, I wanted to go to that religion. Finally I looked for Buddhism and Hinduism, it turned out I didn’t get the answer, I studied all religions, I also studied Confucianism,” said Dian.

Until one day, Dian was invited by her Muslim teacher to a recitation. Without thinking too much, and without hoping that Islam would become the religion she would embrace, Dian immediately left.

At the recitation, Dian heard a lecture by a ustadz. Unexpectedly, for Dian, the lecture was very interesting, in fact, the questions that had been haunting her mind were answered.

“Suddenly he opened a verse from the Koran, he answered very philosophically and very logically, which I didn’t expect to be answered by an Islamic religious leader,” he said.

Dian Sastro admitted that he was attracted to the answers given by the ustadz. He felt he got a complete answer and felt comfortable with the way it was delivered.

“I really enjoyed listening to his explanation. Because it’s rare to meet religious leaders who chat coherently,” he said.

After Kretek Girl, Dian Sastro returned to star in a series entitled Ratu Adil. Check out interesting facts about the series in the following video!
