WHAT DID FOOTBALL PLAYER DIEGO CHÁVEZ DIE FROM?

Diego Chávez died in a car accident in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. He was exactly registered at the intersection of Vicente Guerrero and Antonio J. Bermúdez avenues, at around 1:00 in the morning on February 14, according to reports from personnel from the General Coordination of Road Safety.

JUÁREZ FC REGRETTED THE DEATH OF DIEGO CHÁVEZ

Through its social networks, the Mexican club announced the unfortunate news. “It is with deep sadness that we inform the entire FC Juárez community that our player, Diego ‘El Puma’ Chávez, died early this morning on February 14 in a car accident,” it reads at the beginning.

Then they highlighted his enthusiasm, joy, simplicity, willingness and dedication to defend his team’s colors. “Thank you Puma for every ball defended. Thank you Puma for every shot on goal. On the other hand, the Peruvian club Carlos A. Manucci also issued a statement when the sad news was revealed.

“We express our regret for the unfortunate departure of our former forward Diego ‘Puma’ Chávez, who defended our colors in 2022. We extend our condolences to all his family and friends, and most especially, to his little daughter. Rest in peace, Diego,” the text reads.

“The Mexican Soccer Federation and Liga MX regret the sensitive death of Diego ‘Puma’ Chávez Collins, footballer for FC Juárez, former player for Toluca, Necaxa and Veracruz. The Mexican soccer family extends its condolences to his family, close friends and his current club. Our complete solidarity with you in the face of this irreparable loss,” he stated.

WHO WAS DIEGO CHÁVEZ?

Diego Chávez, better known in his club as ‘Puma’, was a midfielder for FC Juárez, who was 28 years old at the time of his death. He was born on May 11, 1995 in Veracruz, Mexico.

He began his career in professional soccer in the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, with which he debuted in the Liga MX, on August 11, 2015. He has also been part of other teams such as Necaxa for the Clausura 2020 and Toluca in the Apertura 2021 .

In addition, he had a brief time in Peruvian football, as he played for the Carlos Mannucci club in 2022, with which he played 29 games in League 1 Te Apuesta.
