Elections in Germany, Linke flop: the left risks the place in the Bundestag

BERLIN – There was not much to celebrate yesterday at the Festsaal Kreuzberg, the club on the banks of the Spree where Linke followed the election results. For the radical left, a defeat without appeal came out of the polls. Public TV projections give the party around 5 percent, and therefore, until the end, entry to the Bundestag remains under discussion, even if the high percentage of postal votes keeps hope alive.
