PARIS – Four days after the most serious massacre of migrants in the Channel, France is trying to obtain solidarity from Europe in managing the border with the United Kingdom. Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin today organized a meeting in Calais with ministers and officials from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. “The dead are too many and we cannot accept that there are more,” said Darmanin, referring to the twenty-seven victims who drowned in the sea corridor that separates the British island from the mainland.
