DUBAI – A strong explosion rocked Dubai in the night. The noise and the column of fire that followed shook the city: they came from the port and, according to initial information, it was the explosion of an oil tanker that was anchored there that generated them. The images show debris and burnt cars all around the place: but according to the first information arrived from the Dubai firefighters there are no victims.
Jebel Ali Port in Dubai is one of the largest in the world and the largest in the Middle East. It serves goods from the Indian subcontinent, Africa and Asia. The port, operated by DP World, has four container terminals that can accommodate some of the largest ships in the world.
