The actors of the creative economy of Cali had this Friday, February 9, their first approach with the District Administration led by Mayor Alejandro Eder. At the first meeting of the Media Arts Council of Cali, held at the facilities of the Ministry of Economic Development and led by the creative economy team, the commitment of the current government to work, jointly, with the actors that promote the Cali economy.

This council is made up of academics, businessmen, entrepreneurs, artists, cultural institutions, managers and government entities. During the meeting, the Secretary of Economic Development, Edwin Maldonado, and the Undersecretary of Value Chains, Carlos Montoya, were present, where they expressed their commitment to the creative and cultural sector of Cali as a fundamental pillar for the growth of the economy. and the development of the region.

Undersecretary Carlos Montoya highlighted the work of this council as an coordinating entity: “The Media Arts Council of Cali is a favorable scenario to guarantee that the city’s actors can work in an articulated manner from the public and the private, guaranteeing that Cali is a creative and cultural city as has already been determined in international matters, that is That is why in this session of the council it is important to weave bonds of trust between the institutions and organizations that are part of it, with the leadership of the District Administration and the Bibliotec Foundation.”

Thanks to these public-private alliances, in the company of the Bibliotec Foundation, an entity that has been a focal point within this instance that brings together the actors of the local creative economy. Thanks to the actions of the council, the processes have maintained continuity over time and the fulfillment of international cooperation projects has been achieved, contributing significantly to Cali being recognized worldwide as a place conducive to the development of high-impact programs and as a driver for the creative and cultural sector.
