The Government of Havana Addresses Transportation Problems in the Cuban Capital
The Government of Havana has acknowledged transportation issues in the Cuban capital through an official statement on its Facebook account. The statement highlights problems with the GAZZELLE bus service, which has been temporarily affected by fuel supply difficulties in the city, leading to more complex passenger transportation.
Typically, GAZZELLE buses, part of the Metrotaxi service, are refueled overnight and in the early morning to ensure uninterrupted operation. However, in the past two days, these buses have faced challenges in obtaining fuel at designated Metrotaxi supply points, resulting in disruptions to scheduled routes.
Despite the obstacles, drivers have attempted to uphold some level of service by utilizing fuel reserves stored in their vehicles. The significance of the Metrotaxi service to the mobility of Havana’s population is acknowledged, with apologies extended to users for any inconvenience caused. The government ensures that efforts are being made to restore fuel supply and resume normal operations promptly.
