Hervé Bopda, 840 francs! – The Camerounaiseries blog

The Cameroonian government managed to focus our attention on the Hervé Bopda affair, and on the replacement of manager-selector Rigobert Song. And in the meantime, they have meticulously increased the price of fuel!

The Hervé Bopda affair

It’s a case that hit the headlines for almost three weeks, and which reached its conclusion only a few days ago.
A certain Hervé Bopda, a billionaire, was accused by a crowd of young girls — and even young boys — of being a sexual predator. He was accused of acts of rape, kidnapping, threats with weapons, HIV contamination, etc.
Hervé Bopda quickly became public enemy number one on the internet, under the incessant hunt of whistleblower Nzui’Manto. This is how the public clamor demanded his head, and the authorities did not move a finger. Until the early morning of last Wednesday when this individual was grabbed in the middle of the night by the police. He was found at the home of a friend in Bonabéri with whom he was taking refuge, and he is now in the hands of the national gendarmerie for investigation purposes.
A suspected criminal has never been so talked about in the digital space, and for so long, as this mysterious character called Hervé Bopda.

The resignation of Rigobert Song?

Rigobert Song was eliminated from CAN 2023 on Saturday January 27, by a valiant Nigerian team. Before that he had had to fight hard against Gambia, and the qualification of the Indomitable Lions had come definitely unexpectedly.
Rigobert Song is not up to the task, and all Cameroonians know it. He is particularly distinguished by his tactical ineptitudes, his strategic errors and his gross communication errors. For example, after our elimination, he came to remind us that he was not the coach of the Indomitable Lions, but rather their “manager and selector” (sic).
We do not forget his antics at the press conference, we do not understand how he promised us final victory before the World Cup and the CAN, and that after these humiliations he comes to explain to us that “We have a young team and our players came here to learn. » Lie !
And then we all know that he is the friend of the president of Fécafoot, a certain Samuel Eto’o Fils who goes so far as to direct the training sessions of the Indomitable Lions. And when we asked “Rigo” to resign because of his catastrophic record over the past two years (9 defeats and 8 draws in 23 matches), he kindly replied that he would first take time to think…

The increase in fuel prices

And therefore, the fuel price has increased ! 840 CFA francs for a liter of super, and 828 CFA francs for diesel. An increase which was predictable since Mr. Paul Biya’s last speech, and which will certainly not be the last.
The Cameroonian government plays on our spinelessness, and it gives us inaudible explanations such as “budgetary constraints”, to justify its continual increases. The price at the pump will become more and more shocking, motorists will be more and more upset and angry, and yet the same leaders who are taking these suffocating measures are in no way impacted by this draconian pricing.
That is to say, government elites do not pay for their gasoline at the pump, since they benefit from fuel vouchers worth billions of FCFA per month! They have shiny vehicles that are kindly offered to them, and which damage the ozone layer with such speed. […] Not to mention their many unquantifiable benefits (free travel, accommodation, nutrition, exorbitant salaries, etc.) and paradoxically they are the ones who are exempt from fuel price increases…

Life will be even more expensive

With the price of fuel increasing, it will be a whole different story! The price of transport will skyrocket (the taxi has already risen to 400 FCFA), whether by motorbike, by car or by intercity. Goods coming from distant lands will also experience a big increase, since planters and cultivators will have to recover all their expenses.
Beyond that, there will be widespread inflation. The repercussions of the increase in transport costs will be felt in almost all sectors; and even merchants who are not directly impacted by this change will want to take advantage of the situation.
The cost of living will continue to increase in an ultra-spectacular way, and yet we are told that we are not yet at the end of our suffering. The Cameroonian government is trying to calm things down; by announcing a slight increase in the salary of basic civil servants, to the tune of around 4%. But is it then possible to treat cancer with plaster, especially since the population of Cameroonian civil servants does not even reach 2% of our demographics?

Rigobert Song, 828 francs per liter!

And so the Cameroonian government fooled us perfectly with the Bopda affair, and on the tenure of the Mancunian goalkeeper, André Onana.
Yet in the meantime, they carefully increased the price of fuel…

Samuel Eto’o, 840 francs! We spend time talking to us about the managerial errors of this grotesque character, and yet the issues facing our society are diametrically opposed.
Rigobert Song, 828 francs! The manager-selector of the Indomitable Lions is a puppet, and his contractual situation is entertainment which aims to distract us from our real concerns.
The Hervé Bopda affair was undoubtedly a very serious matter, but does that then justify the increase in the price of fuel?

Because in the days that follow, life is going to become a hundred times more difficult! The price of necessary foodstuffs will increase drastically, and it is the poorest families who will suffer the most serious consequences. The members of the government will not suffer any impact, they who continue with their lifestyle of mismanagement, budgetary waste and massive embezzlement of our precious public funds.
But what do you want, since next time they are going to focus on the affairs of a certain gentleman Pierre La Paix Ndamè
